So here is the basic cad sketch of my next desk. Its to scale so feel free to snag any info you might be able to use. What I suggest for your desk is to scrap the idea of record storage on the left and make that rack space. Then you can buy rack drawers and place the TT on that. This way you can slide it out and open and close the cover with no interference.

me too man, thats why i had to get it!..the turn table is dope, it doesn't need a mixer, i plug it straight into my MPC mono through it's on-board 1/4" headphone out put..it also has rca, 3/8 headphone, and built in speakers..battery powered too, i love going to flea markets with it (i have two, one in my car..)

It doesn't need a mixer, but it sucks.

it doesn't suck..at all..rather have this than a bulky mixer/turn table..

i've been using it for years, listen to my beats..

i'd like to know more about why you think it sucks..

Yall talking about the PT01? For sampling.....its sucks majorly. This has been discussed many times here. Dont believe it, compare it to a TT with a decent needle and the difference is apparent. The highs are scratchy and the low end lacks detail. because it spins on that felt rather than a standard platter there are variations in speed as well. Sorry but the PT01 is in no way a good deck for sampling. I love taking it out for digs for obvious reasons but thats it.

at least you gave a solid explanation as to why you wouldn't use it for sampling..

personally, it doesn't bother me that the fidelity is not all there..and i do agree with you there..but, seeing as to how i chop-record all my samples into my mp, i dont have to worry about the variation problem in the RPMs..since its usually a quick chop i record..

i track all my beats into pro tools, and mix them there, and as long it sounds good at the end, all that matters..

i respect your opinion on it, but to me, it's worth not having a bulky mixer/turntable plopped on my table..

PLUS..im not a DJ..so, having an expensive Technic turn table just for sampling is not a cost effective solution to me..

I hear you. I dont have a big clunky 1200 either. Them things are like 800 friggin pounds I actually have one of these:

Image

Its a music hall MMF 2.1
Its light, quiet and reeeeaaal clean. Its a touch bigger than the PT01 but smaller than a 1200 because honestly I dont have the room for one of those either and like you I am no DJ...in fact I am faaaaaaaaaar from it

that looks pretty dope..you still need a mixer for it?..the thing is though man, you're still getting a belt drive TT, and for 200+??.. i dont know..all im sayin is, the PT01 works for me!..lol dammit

I have the PT-01. The signal to noise sucked for me. It didn't sound loud enough. I think it would be better for you though because you have all that gear to run it through.
