Ok so theres a couple of threads about the gap between the black pads and the newer style sensor. I didn’t really pay any mind until this weekend when I was trying to lay down this drum line with a bunch of different velocities. Long story short I wasn’t really interested in filling my pads with silicone and I didn’t want anything permanent or something that would leave a residue. Bring in the gay dots!

I use dots to mark my records and sleeves with sample data so I can recover them later if need be. But I had this pack of colored dots that I would never use so I figured why not try them out and see if they solve the gap issue. The process is easy:

1. Open up MPC
2. Remove pads
3. stick dots together then stick to pads
4. smoke some bud
5. look for the 3 screws you dropped while you working on step 4
6. close up MPC and leave out the 1 screw you never found

SHAM WOW you are done!

Another thing that I noticed is that the gap is not very consistant. Some pads I used 6 dots stacked up. One of them needed 8 and a few had 5. I gotta say, you don’t realize how bad the gap is until you seal them up. Now they are nice and gapless and the uninstall is super easy. Try it out if it works you can be like: “pound you’re a effin savior, I totally gotta smoke you out next time I’m in NY”. If not than you can be like “F you pound I wasted a whole dollar on these dots and my pads look like a gay connect four”. Whatever your outcome just make sure you adhere to step 4.

FYI. I did find that last screw but I was too baked to replace it. Ill get to it I swear.

All jokes aside. I liked the end result. Havent seen any downsides yet but its only been a few hours. Who knows this may fix your gap issue or make your MPC burst into flames. Idunno try at your own risk.

Don't even need em.

I just did it yesterday. Good looks, Pound.

It's pretty straight forward. Remove pads. Use the stationary dots. Make a stack of them (I used 8). Make a stack for each pad, and stick it to the bottom of the pad.

Works perfect. Feels like my roommates 3000 now. No gap, just a solid/firm feel.

Crazy, I would have never thought of that. It was only when I right clicked that I noticed it. Learn something new every day!
