Window Button not functioning...

Hey guys.
Just bought my MPC. Trying to learn how it works but I notice even though my window button is illuminated, when I press it nothing happens.

Any insight?

Anyways,

I just got it today and was skimming through the quick start guide and the manual to learn how this things works and to load my own samples and it while trying to get to the directory window I noticed my window button didn't work. I went to the main screen and then I found out it's not working on anything, even though the button is lit up. I tried to install JJ OS thinking maybe that would help but I can't because you have to power it on while holding the... window... button.

bring it to your electronic repair shop to have it looked at... the button contact must either be messed up or someone replaced it with an LED.

I don't think it's the second idea because it turns off for example if I scroll to Track it is on, but when I go to Type it turns off.

that means the led works but the button contact is for shure defective... so:

1) replace

2) garantee?/service.

a lot of mk1 buttons are defctive around here.....

Hey thanks a lot for your help. I bought it off ebay so... not sure of my options for service. Should I contact Akai? How would I go about replacing it? I'll assume this is what I need.

I'm really surprised it doesn't work because the thing looks brand new, theres not a scratch on it, and the guy said it was used only like 10 times. I'm thinking maybe the button was defective from the start and he just put it away and left it be.

if u re used insoldering i would replace the switch, first,

chekking it with a multimeter..... (cheapest way)

if u don t know how to solder take it to a repair service or return it.
