The 3k also has an option for a VGA output 4k does not.

You can now install a card reader in the 3k so no more floppy or zip disk!!

DukeNewport- Don't trip no one's dissing the 3k AWW_NAWW & Lamp Dog are 4k heads
like me.

I think that the 3k is the most beautiful mp ever made looks wise, but what worries me is
finding replacements part's.

I own an MPC 60, MPC 3000, MPC 2000XL and an MPC 5000. I love the 60 and 3000, they are pretty simple and straight forward machines, but the 5000 has so many features that I have to say I like that the best.

As was said before, you'd have more drastic results getting a nice stereo pre and running your sounds through them...do you know anyone that has some you can A/B?

Do NOT do it ---- The moment you "attempt" to chop up samples ( not drum hits ) SAMPLES!!! you will regret it and ask yourself " what have I just done"

You want warm sound??

Keep the 4000 and buy a EMAX I rack trust me homie you will thank me later.

for what you are looking for, I put the EMAX sound above ANY mpc.
