yo fellas
once again i have a probably stupid problem....

when i hit the "play start" button my mp never starts playing at the beginning of the beat - it plays the last drums of the beat just like the metronome counting in before you start recording...the option "count in when playing" is not activated though and i even push the <<< always before playing to make sure it starts at the very beginning...

to make sure you know what i mean i just made a short loop and a video of it to show you what i mean:

i really hope you guys can help me - tell me what i am doing wrong or whatever as this is really pissing me off... :D

it sounds like you might have hit your sample to early when recording,,and that makes it start later when u hit play/start..
kinda hard to explain..
u should activate your count in,,it might help with this.

this has happened ta me in tha past...

sonseelye's got it right...

tha problem lies under tha 'timing correct' button

your prolly hitting tha pad wit tha sample correctly in time its jus bein triggered earlier cause you have a time shift setting accidently saved. push 'timing correct' and where it says 'shift timing' its set to 'earlier' or 'later' which isn't a problem but where it says 'shift amount' if it aint set at '0' ish is prolly gonna be off. so turn back ta zero then hit tha pad your sample is on and push 'move existing' (soft key1). this happenes to me when setting up my drums and playin wit tha swing of things and i forget to change it back before recording my bass lines and melodies...

sorry if im way off basis...

hope this helps and doesnt confuse.

Go into STEP EDIT and see what NOTE/DRUM data is present at the first time location position ?

That would give a clear indication of what is going on.

PROBLEM SOLVED

fellas,
the problem is solved- thanks a lot!

but now i have another problem (damn!) - my mp wont record all notes i hit. whenever i hit two kicks quickly after another it will only record the first one, not the second...and this goes through the whole track...it only records my kicks 1,3,5,7, etc but not the missing ones...that problem came from one second to another when i solved the first problem (which was only a problem with a incorrect working count in button lol - it was never active so the mp was already recoding while i thought it was counting in....**** me is!) so i dont know what i could have changed in the menu that causes that new problem..any suggestions???

It probably does, but if you have quantizing on, they'll be layered...Either adjust your quantize settings or turn timing off...

well, i did not active timing....where should i check if it is activated accidently?
sorry for all the questions....i am not a big dumbuck in general - only seemingly on this machine haha!

Goto Timing Correct and whatever value is assigned there will be applied to your sequence.

That's where you can switch it off, set it to 16ths, etc.
