Sample Technique Question

Does anyone know how Kanye West gets his samples so tight? What formula does he use to get his samples bangin the way they do?

he straight jacks his samples. and maybe puts some at 45. Not really much too it.

yeah pretty simple, he just has an ear for dope samples. And he puts nice drumtracks behind em

most of his ish is straight loops.. pretty simple just listen to your records for the empty spaces unless u tryin to do the sped vocal thing..

I thought that Kanye song 2words was dope and then I heard the original song....HE JACKED THE WHOLE SONG!!!! but it was still dope.

but i think he makes tight beats...my favourite at the moment is probably overnight celebrity

someone had a soundclick site with all samples from hip hop jams. all the original songs. they had a whole kanye section. anyone remember the lizzink?

i know for 1, he doesnt speed the samples up through the turntable, he does it in the asr 10

I heard the orignal samples from the overnight celebery song he did with twista he jacked a long as part of it...It was the same way just slowed down with different drums....

haha, except timestretching on an asr is HELL.

Ain't no secret at all how he makes good music..he just loops music that was already good.Not to take anything away from Kanye because in order to find those samples like that you have to actually listen to records all the way through.That's the real secret...You can't just needle drop hoping to find something useable you pretty much have to listen to tracks the whole way through not just the intro's and outro's.Anytime I'm at the crib there is a record playing no matter what I'm doing.When I hear something I like I go take the sample make the beat and I go on to the next record.Once I've heard the whole song all the way through it only takes me about 15 to 20 mintues to make the beat.
