How much did you pay for it cause it isn't that good in all honesty?

about 60 dollars... so I thought it would be worth it.... what I felt most glad about is that I found a add-on to my precious piece of sampler.. I plan on getting all the add-ons for the mpc2000xl, including the flash rom for collectin' porpouses...

how come you think its crappy? do you have it in your mpc 2000?

For 60 dollars it's not a bad buy... certainly better than the 200-300 dollars they go for new!

I bought mine pre-installed on my 2000xl 10 years ago and used to use it quite a lot, but as time went on I got tired of the lack of quality effects and poor reverb. I recently upgraded to the 2500 and the effects are no better but at least they come as standard.

yeah its nice the mpc 2500 comes equipt with 8-outs and effects.. Is the EB16 better than the effects on the 2500?
the day I retire my mpc2000xl I'll buy an mpc2500 or an mpc 5000

the eb16 can't be that crappy, it has 4 simultanious FX at the same time.
A reverb aint never better than its mod capabilities, yet a preset reverb hasn't impressed me..

but as I said, I bought the eb16 primarly for the collecting porposes..

The ability to layer 4 average (at best) effects doesn't mean much.

Exactly...actualy they are not bad they are terrible, and confusing to use for some reason, I took the card out of my s3200xl and stuck it in the mpc a few weeks ago just as I was taking her out so I wanted to be fully loaded, I don't think I even used them...the phaser/flange.oh my god is it a flanger cos it sounds like a piece of shit lol the reverb is so lame it works like a on/off swicth...have it set low and it's too low have the level turned up a bit and it drenches the sample in a gooey mess.
Dellays...what dellay? I mean I didn't expect a lot but not this crap, the fx are better laid out in the S-3200xl and the sound is slightly clearer in the S series than my 2000xl but they are still crap no matter what in both machines.
Either get a DAW with a good soundcard that has multipe inputs/Digital mixer like a Yamaha 01v if you want your total re-call or just something like a Lexicon or Ensoniq DPS rack unit that you can patch into your analogue mixer's aux sends money better spent for sure

You got a great deal and in my opinion a rather good card. Once you're familiar with tweeking the settings you will see the difference in your beats.

I love the FX card. The reverb is cheesy, but I mostly use the filter and autopan, and those work super great. But I use the reverb a little too, and it works well in my opinion.
