when i pan any of my samples in the mixer to the right there is no longer sound and when panning left it does not pan at all
i have the two main outputs going into a sound card, panned hard left and right each
i cant figure out why the panning is not working

Doubt it! Even if he had a bad wire, with a proper stereo track and i/o setup in his DAW, he would only have audio out his left speaker if it was a bad wire.

I'd tend to agree with hellfire. To help troubleshoot this you could also use 2 individual mono tracks (track 1 assigned input 1, track 2 assigned to input 2). Then try panning between L/R on the second input (at the input source if possible). Also try, swapping inputs, (Output L - input 2, Output R to input 1). This will tell the tale of it being a problem with the output of the MPC or the input of the sound device, or even a routing problem within the software. Hope this helps...

i have each of my outputs on the mpc going to a single mono track each which are panned hard left and hard right respectively
my 2 main outs are also going into the left and right ins of the speakers i am using
this is why i am confused
this is becoming an issue as panning is pretty vital when it comes to making a track that needs room and its all just stuck in the centre
