Loaded Sounds not Working

Okay so I'll try and explain this the best I can. I just downloaded some fender keyboard WAV samples to play on my mpc and when I plug my mpc into my computer I can drag and drop the keyboard samples into my mpc folder. Now when I un-plug my mpc from my computer I go to play or load the sounds and when I hit play i get no sound and when I hit "DO IT" I get a pop up on my mpc that says "Wrong File", I don't know why it's saying wrong file if it's WAV? Does anyone know why it is doing this? THANKS for the help

Its saying wrong file because its the wrong file type. Load them on the comp first and get the properties of one. Make sure the bit rate, sample rate character length are right. This happened to me in the past....ended up being wrong bit rates.

Ok that makes sense, I looked it up and the bit rate for them is 2116 kbps and the audio sample size is 24 bit it says and the type of file is Microsoft Wave Sound Format. Now I'm not sure what the right bit rate is for an mpc, but is there a way to change it so these sounds will work on it? These are some really dope ones and I'd hate to delete them.

Theres your problem right there homie! They need to be 16 bit @ a 44.1 khz sample rate.

No problem man, I believe audacity can convert. Is it a lot of files? If so you would need something that can batch convert. When I had my problem I just used pro tools to preview them and then sampled them into the 1k

Yea there is quite a few of them but luckily i have audacity and pro tools

Nice If anything you can also load them into PT and bounce down to 16 bit with the correct sample rate and everything. You can also edit the start and end points so you dont waste space in the 1k. This way when you go to use them you dont have to do anything but assign them to a pad and get crackin!

Use the Search on this forum. There are at least two threads from the last couple of months that have a link to a nice and easy batch converter you can use to make the whole lot 44.1kHz 16bit all in one go. I can't remember its name of the top of my head and I'm not searching for you though.

Same prob here. Thanks for the info. I have Sound Forge 8 and it has a batch converter. However, is there a maximum file name length??
