New Mpc Owner Needing Some Help

I just got the 4000 the other day and am trying to load my drums/samples into it. I've read the manual and searched the forum about this subject and couldnt find anything. I've tried to connect it via usb for drag and droping but when i plug it in it says it cant find software driver or something like that. I looked on akai's site for support it but couldnt find anything that worked.

After that i burned all my drums to a few cds and tried to load it into the mp via cd drive. I hit the load button and can see all the tracks there but i cant figure out how to make them part of my library. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also im a long time software user that finally decided to get an mp to see what it was about so i dont know a whole lot about mpcs.

This is the only screenshot i could find of aksys so you get a better understanding of what it looks like. From what I know, you can use it to create drum programs on your computer that can be LOADED onto the 4000.

It's pretty unprobable that you read the manual, but anyways.

1) The MPC reads WAV samples with 16 and 24bit depth and up to 96kHz sample rate.
2) If you burn the samples to a CD you'll see them in the LOAD screen after selecting the CD drive and set the filter to SAMPLES. (It seems you burned audio tracks)
3) You can also drag and drop samples from your WIN/MAC machine by using the AkSys-Software, but you'll need to install the USB driver first. After that, the MPC's memory and drives will be accessable under AkSys.

These basic things are really covered anywhere you'll point your attention to!

Thanks for the responses. But since i see the cd and all the tracks in the load screen, whats the next step to save them in the mpc. And i downloaded aksys, Thanks for that. Also i have been reading the manual and really couldnt find anything on loading a cd into your mp and saving it in there, maybe because i havent read the entire thing yet. Im a noob when it comes to mpcs so sorry in advance.

but TSR is saying that you may have burned an AUDIO CD instead of a DATA CD.

Is it even possible to load sounds from a cd? I can see all the tracks on the Cd on the load screen but i cant figure out how to save them.

is there any way you can take a picture of the screen and upload? I know that's a lot to ask, but me personally I can't see what I'm working with.

I just figured out how to save it to memory. Thanks for your help. Another question though, now that i saved it how do i create a new folder for it and how do i transfer it to that folder?

device.
Functions
• [F2] key (UTILITY)
Displays the Disk Utility page.
• [F3] key ( NEW)
Creates a new folder in the selected level of the file list.
• [F5] key (MULTIPLE)
Displays a popup window where you can save multiple items of data. You can use this
function if you have selected samples/programs/multis as the data to be saved.
• [F6] key (DO IT)
Executes the Save operation.
Type block
Selects the type of data that will be saved to the storage device.
A Type field
Selects the type of file to be saved, from the following choices.
• SAVE SEQUENCE .......................... Save an individual sequence.
• SAVE ALL SEQs AND SONGs....... Save all sequences and songs (ALL file).
• SAVE SAMPLEs.............................. Save one or more samples.
• SAVE PROGRAMs.......................... Save one or more programs.
• SAVE MULTIs ................................. Save one or more multis
And since 1.4 I think SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY which I nearly always use.

yes, yes it is.

glad you got it all sorted out, it takes a lil getting used to but once you got it you're good to go.
