Mixer: 6,8, or 12 channels

What size mixer do most of you use for a lil home studio? I know I'm gonna hook use my 06 pro and maybe keyboard- I guess I was wondering what the minimum amount of mixer was with the 1000?

Two channels would be the minimum of course.
Depends on ur needs what kind of mixer u want. More outs= easier to record, but is more expensive.
6 will be enough for the 1k, but I don't know if u want to add more hardware to ur setup?

what do you need a mixer for? i have a 12 channel <b>line mixer</b> that i simply use to run my synths to and adjust my external fx sends and returns. if you are just looking to get you ins and outs organized and have the ability to move the signal flow, i would suggest a patch bay and an interface with the amount of ins and outs that you need.

I use a 12 channel. I only use 5 in my setup, but when i jam with others the other 7 are there if needed. I say get more than you need now, you will need them later.

I have no mixer in my production setup. I run everything through a presonus monitor station. Works just fine.
