Ok, I got the encoder from Digikey, unfortunately its smaller than the one I have on my machine.

The encoder on my machine is a bit larger (going to measure it tonight). The connection's are also spaced further apart than the part from digikey that is linked previously.

I did take note of the brand on my mpc.

Current Brand Info:
Mitsumi
It had some numbers on it 22 and 39 and a lowercase 'a' on it. I've been searching mitsumi's website for the specs but I cant seem to find it. I'll have to give it another go after work.

We will get it eventually...

hey guys,

i'm really sorry i posted the wrong encoder the first time and forced zombeast to order something not fitting. it's really not easy to find replacement parts with same specs. in my case with the 2500 it's
impossible to find another encoder with the same hollow shaft type. my idea (or dream) is to put another part in...

another thing is my knowledge about encoders is limited. both, 1000+2500 have encoders
with 24 number of detent (i think thats the clicks/steps per revolution) and 24 number of pulse (i don't really understand that, i think 1 pulse is one of the 4 signal status the encoder can send).

i found many encoders with detent/pulse not the same numbers. so it's getting more confusing

maybe an encoder with 32detent/32pulse would also work?

i didn't find someone to tell me ,yet (need a electronical nerd to tell me the secrets)

i was seeking the net intensively, wrote e-mail to some companys to find parts with higher lifetime but the most parts only offer 50,000 revolutions because normally mechanical rotary encoders are used for volume knobs or similar, not for operation jog wheel. btw thats the men's encoder (to big for any mpc)

i found elma.com they offer small mech. encoders with 1,000,000 revolutions but only 16 or 32 detents where we come back to my questions above

this is not the end

oLsen (not olson(nym))

sorry for errors in speech

im betting on NI Maschine getting better over time. It is what it is, which is not to say its not useful. Thats the direction im heading. but in the meantime i have a Schaltwerk, a Boss dr-5, Short Circuit in MuLab, with a Wii>midi setup. ill be ok.

so anyway, buy my shiz yo.
