MPC1000 RAM and CF card Recommendations

I just want to post that i have bought the above item
it arrived today, plug it in and it works instantaneously
(strangely with no ram checks or test at all, on startup it just shows 128mb )
while prev rams that i tried all went into test mode and all failed !

Hey Lemme know if that Ram Card from that link worked. I ordered and received it and when I plug mines in, and power up, my screen just lights up and nothing else happens. But when I unplug the MPC and remove the card it goes back to reading my standard 16MB. I dont know if it was just the one they sent me was bad or not.
It was only $9 so im debating if I should order another one and chalk it up as a lost!

do larger CF cards (4 gb cards, 8 gb cards and so on) only work with newer MPC 1000 operating systems?
how can i find out which OS i got on my mpc? i just received mine yesterday...

I can't see any reason why not. Afaik the mpc should tell you what jj os you have installed when you turn the mpc on but i've only used OS1 so i don't know about the rest. There must be a way to check though...

edit: I read that wrong. No idea if larger CF cards work with the akai OS.

I bought the kingston 256mb valueram based on info i read here but it didn't work! Probably some bad ram.

i just installed my Infineon 144 Pin 256 MB PC-133 SODIMM CL3 today, which i bought off ebay for 10 Euros, and it works perfectly.

Ah excellent! Do you have a link to the seller? I've emailed a few sellers on ebay but none of them seem to want to reply. I'm at the stage now where i'm just gonna risk buying some that is listed here but that's what i did in the first place so i'm a little dubious!

I have a SanDisk Ultra II 8GB cf card installed using jjos 4.99. Working flawless for 2 weeks now.

just got mine today and worked no problem. a great deal for $9.......GET IT GET IT GET IT GET IT!!!!!

the specs look good, it might work. can't assure you tho cuz i can't find a brand.
