Ì have a couple of "cheap piano" PGMs for the MPC1000 on my site (link below). Both use samples from other sites, I just provide the PGM and a link.
1) The "pine piano" is really nasty, in a good way, I think - it definitely has "character". I have no idea where the samples originally came from, but they are still online now.
2) The CP70 uses samples from Hollow Sun: this is a very "70's" sound made famous but ABBA, Genesis, any band that did a lot of touring but did not want to carry a Baby Grand with them. NB: Hollow Sun currently has bandwidth problems, you may not get the samples downloaded till next week...
