Correct format

Just got my MPC-3000 and got the zip all hooked up and formatted. now when i take sound samples off my computer and put them on the disk and try to load them on the MPC it says this file can't be loaded incorrect format. they are standered wav. files that loaded fine on my 2000xl before i upgraded any ideas.

also i got my MPC used and it has a loose scroll knob anyone know how to fix it.

SOmebody fixed the scroll knob with a piece of paper, it might be a loose nut, see if you can pull the knob off and see if it's the nut.

You can't load wavs in the 3000, you need to convert them to wavs.

You should get the MPC Editor for PC ($30 you can get it now at Midicase.com, great program!) and it will let you make whole programs of wavs and export them in 3000 format.

If you are on Mac there is a similar program as well, PGMmaker or something.

that reminds me, on my mpc 3k, my data wheel, its hard to get specific numbers on it, sometimes itll go the wrong direction up a # instead of - when going slow..
my mpc 60 wasnt like this..
it not a big deal, but i use the + - buttons now..

I gotta a little problem with my 60... the volume knob has come loose and no longer "points" to where it should. I guess it's a simple case of taking the top cover off and having a look, but have you ever experienced this?

Yeah, I got some stuff, It's gonna be a while tho. I'm not sure what will really be representative yet.

What 60 you got Arc? Mk I ? Just take the volume knob off by pulling up. THere is a nut there on the bottom, if the actual Pot Mechanism is loose, just hold the nub and screw the nut in with a pair of pliers and put the knob back on... This happened to me once and when I put it back, the level of the nut was wrong so the pot turned with some resistance, at that point I did have to pop her open and adjust the nut from the bottom so it was level.

so i need to take a file that is already a wav file and convert it to wav. is there any programs i can dload for free that would do this. i don't want to have to wait a week before i can use my MPC.

nah man u need to convert the wav>> snd file usin awave or sumthin

yeah convert to snd. but if you have winxp, i heard that you need to do all kinds of stuff first before you transfer it to the zip disk because the 3000 wont recongnize xp disks.

get the mpc editor, it's an immediate download. there is also a free app on his site that converts wave to SND and back.
