WHAT THA DEAL...IM PRETTY NEW 2 PRODUCING. ANY WAY I RECENTLEY COPPED A MPC1000 AND AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO HELP ME LEARN THE TECHNIQUES TO USING IT. I READ MY MANUAL AND UNDERSTAND THE FEATURES BUT NOW I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO USE ALL THESE FEATURES TO PRODUCE TRACKS. IM A 100% HIP-HOP HEAD AND WILL BE MAKING MOSTLY HIP-HOP BEATS. I LOVE ALL TYPES OF HIP-HOP FROM UNDERGROUND CATS LIKE NECRO,NON PHIXION, SMUT PEDDLERS, ETC TO MAINSTREAM CATS LIKE NAS, WU TANG, TALIB KWELI, MOS DEF, CORMEGA...ETC...ANYWAY IF ANY ONE HAS TIME AND IS WILLING 2 SCHOOL ME ON THE INS AND OUTS I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT. I AM NOT ASKING FOR A STEP BY STEP COURSE, BUT MERLEY A HALPING HAND. I HAVE BEEN SAVING UP FOR MY MPC FOR YEARS AND NOW THAT I FINALLY HAVE ONE I WANT TO USE ALL THIS POWER TO HELP ME INSTEAD OF AGAINST ME. SO IF ANYONE IS WILLING TO SHOW ME THE LIGHT...RESPOND TO THIS POST, SEND ME A PM OR HIT ME ON MY E-MAIL AT [email protected]
THANKS

like i said i aint tryin 2 get a step by step guide. I read my manual twice and understand most of how the MPC works. Now i just want an experienced hip-hop producer to teach me the ropes/ techniques of contructing solid hip-hop tracks.

listen to stuff you like and copy it note for note. keep doing it until you get really good. that's in addition to writing your own stuff obviously.

dont just read here, read everything you can find on the internet about how this stuff is made. read books and magazines too. no one's gonna do it for you, not even a mentor.
