what the 1000 got stock.

Okay i had a 1000 nintendo version( blue n red), built up w/ an exm 128, and jjos v.1, was about to get version 2, then it went bllllpphhh and i gave it away to some friends. I know y'all are gon hate me for sayin this, but ive also been lookin at an mv-hate-ee-hate hundreed. I baught the 1k used, and it had no cf card so i had to trim my own drums and samples. Thank god for the jj-os. I loved that 1k like it was my child. Cleaned it w/ air twice a month, tightened the screws once a month. Smoke free, so on. Like i said my child. Now heres my question. How reliable are the NEW 1k bk's and what stock sounds does t come with? Am i going to have to worry about it poopin out again, and how often is it "safe" to clean it?
I know about upgrades and hard drive installs n such, but i think i just might end up wit a roland w/ buggy buttons cuz of its vocal mastering capabilities. Any input would help. P.S. im new, so dont hate too hard.

Sold my red and blue a minute ago and picked up the all black. No problems yet. As far as the MV...didnt like it.

If you really need "vocal mastering capabilities" then steer clear of any MPC.

Mv's non destructive chopping is the shit...pads are garbage...discontinuation of multiple output expansion while unit still on store shelfs = middle finger to roland

as far as features versus $$$ MV runs circles around MPC all day

if you looking for all in one MV will definately offer you more than MPC can.

*midi editing using mouse is pain
*block representation of your arragment is ok, it should be more detailed in my opinion. broken down to single notes and wave form on audio tracks. rather than solid block for x amount of notes.
*slow load times
*midi ports IN x 1, OUT x 2
*MV sports true linear recording (song) mode as opposed to MPC, where you complie bunch of sequences into one. linear recording you get on MV is what you'd get on a synth workstation such as motif, triton etc.
*swing on MV is crazy flexibe, it can completely reshape your groove, much more in depth than MPC's imo

I tried the mv-88 finally. the pads feel like depression, in the mental sense. They suck sooooooooo bad man, i was extremely dissapointed. And nobody mentioned the latency issue, where the pad sounds like a millisecond after you hit the pad. What gives roland, i got a Dr-880, and theres no latency. Big thumbs down. I decided imma copme a 2500. Theyre pretty dope feeling 'cept the cheese-grade wheel.

MV pads and load times are horrible...as far as latency I had no issues with mine.

i got the mv sitting right next to the mpc 2000xl. wouldn't sell either one.

before I traded my 8800 I made a backup of all my projects to external hard drive...I made few cool beats on that machine. If I come across real cheap 8000 I will prolly pick it up, I really wanted to get those beats of there. unfortunately I was not able to due to issues with newly built pc.

mpc and mv is a ill combination...I imagine you use xl pads to trigger mv
