HELP ! MPC500 PLAYING BACK SAMPLES AT A DIFFERNT SPEED WTF!

I hook up the bass and record a line . Assign it to a pad and when I play it back it plays at a slower speed that I recorded it at. I tried recording a loop in pro tools and loading it in and it does the same thing. Did I hit some button Im not suppossed to hit or something. If anyone can help me please post

the same has happened to me when i first got mine.

this what u want to do, before making your beat u want to go into mode, program, and scroll to new program, name it whatever u want, and then set all your levels from 70 to 100, u can do it manually or u can hit numeric and type 100 in, whatever u prefer, next PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THIS PART! go back into program and scroll to where it says playback, it will be on poly, change it to mono, do this on all of the pads you plan to use, next go set up your tracks by pressing the button track, its an annoying process but its very effective, make sure on every track it shows ur program that u selected, now all ur tracks are set up usually twelve tracks or so, and then go load ur samples to whatever pads and save the program, it saves all the samples assigned. then u can start to make ur beat. im gonna tell u how to do that now, next go into sequence make sure its an unused sequence, cursor up and to the right and set ur bpm (beats per minute) set it to whatever you prefer, then go into params, and set ur bars from 2 to whatever number u prefer, probably like 4 or so, then scroll to the right i think an name ur sequence, then hit the sequence button again to take u back to your sequence, then u would probably start ur beat like with hihats on track 1, kicks on track 2, snare on track 3, samples on track 4? idk how u would do it its entirely up to u my dude but yeah u can pretty much keep adding tracks, and when u get good enough at the mpc my dude u can keep adding shit to the beat without having to stop very often or at all.

@Aura - What the hell? Talk in English, man.

If you mean 'I've changed the pitch of my sample and now it plays back faster/slower' then that's an easy one. That is how the sampler works.

If you change the pitch down, the sample slows. If you tune it up, it gets faster. Simple as that. You can stretch the samples to the correct tempo once you've pitched it down and resampled it; that's easy enough, too.

Well, the simple fact that I wasted about ten minutes of my very valuable time trying to decipher the code that you passed off as 'English' is enough to put me on a bad foot. Also, dawg, the fact that you didn't answer the OP's question... well, that just took the piss!

I believe I did answer his question, so what the **** are you talking about man? As far as what he asked I gave suggestions to what he could do. If you don't like how I type then oh well bro deal with it either way I'm putting the water under the bridge with this one. So I really could care less if you think I can type proper or not man because it really will be to no avail in regards to bickering about the shit. First off my music speaks for itself. secondly you would never be able to fathom my writing ability in terms of lyrics i been writing all my life.
