IE: The card reader and the hard drive in the same spot.
The USB mod with out needing to use Aksys
The 160gb hard drive (I thought the max was 120)
The Dual Layer DVD drive

i was looking at that ad for few days now...no way homebody is gonna get that much for it.

in his ad he mentions forat kits...which makes me think this was done by forat.

as for transfering files without using aksys is probably what that multicard reader is for.

no way he got wifi, or bluetooth installed in that thing

you could use some sort of usb switch to do the file transfer thing.
the dvd burner is just a waste. the mpc will use it to read dvd's and cd', and it will still burn cd's, it will not burn dvd's.



sure, I bet he put a 160gb hd in there, but the mpc will only format it to 120gb.
or he could have hooked it up internally to the usb bus(most likely not)
also you could use bigger than 120gb drive, if you were to install a scsi hd internally.


this is all just marketing hype, trying to get a better price for his thing.



a modification I always thought would be useful, and easy to do --internal usb hub

I don't have the service manual on this laptop, but if my memory is correct there is an unused SCSI connection in the MPC.

I wonder what that SCSI connection was meant to be used for? I know that AKAI had plans for a Firewire connection on the DPS24. Was that also planned for the MPC?

scsi connection is meant to be used for scsi drives, no other option.

Why would anyone give up a MPC 4000 for a MPC 500 or 1000?
