How to copy all tracks in a sequence with one operation?

Hi boys and girls

This is my first post as a proud owner of new shiny 2500 with JJ OS 2 onboard (did not like some crucial options that XL has left out). I got it for a week and I already love it to death. I just released my debut album and this baby is gonna work hard for the second one!!! So far so good - I read all the manuals but I could not find the option of copying all tracks within a sequence in one go. Here is the scenario - I make 2 bar sequence. Than I compose let's say a 4 bar melody of some instrument, but then I have to copy all the remaining tracks one by one to match this 4 bars. Is there an option to copy all the remaning tracks in one go so they match the new 4 bar sequence?

I would greatly appreciate any input on this one.

You probably wanna copy the whole sequence to a new one. Then you can copy in the new track you composed in a separate sequence to the newly copied sequence.

(Next time copy your sequence first, and compose your variation in the copied sequence.)

I dont get it - if I copy the whole sequence to the new one than it does not change anything in terms of bars right? I still have a 2 bar sequence- if I copy the 4 bar loop to it nothing really changes - or am I missing something obvious? Sorry if I sound like an idiot, but I am still quite fresh to this machine.

Oh okay-- Use either Sequence edit mode (and then Bars tab), or Song mode to make your 2 bar sequence into a 4 bar. I always use song mode. Bring up the sequence as the only sequence in your song, set the number of Repeats to 2, and then use Convert to sequence.

That'll be 20 bucks

mode pad 13 > BARS > set last bar to 2 and and make 1 copy from bar 2. Now u have a 4 bar loop.

Ok - but I think what nanoloop suggests is not what I want achieve – I tried to do it with the bars option – its doable but I would have to do it track by track – right? This is not the way I would imagine to do it – especially when I have 20 tracks in a sequence. Unless there is an way to copy all the tracks in the bar option, which I have missed?

When you use the BARS tab in Sequence edit, it will affect all tracks in the sequence. (I still prefer using song mode)

Sweet  — I'll deifinitely try it out again – is the bar thingy located in the first screen after goin mode+ PAD 13 ? Or is it hidden somehow? I tried it yesterday and if I remember it correctly there was a screen for separate tracks. I am on JJ OS 2 – does it matter?

OK -I know what was wrong – apparently on OS2  – the bar copy was not working for the audio tracks – all other I could copy perfectly but not the audio ones which is crucial to me. So I switched to OS XL and everything is fine – it copies audio tracks as well as the others in one go. Yesterday I worked extensively on the XL and I decided that despite some serious flaws the XL is better for me.

ahh yeh, i never use audio tracks just midi. thats the problem right there.
