WTF hard drive won't read

Installed a 120 gig hard drive go to format the damn thing and all I get is memory card. I've tried re installing it about 16 times already. Sameyhing with cd/dvd drive it lights up spins but I can't acess it on the mpc.i baught the mpc brand new it's not used can someone please help!!!

Hit Mode and pad#2,3 or 5 depending on what you want to do, turn the data wheel until you get to CD. The MPC will select MEMORY CARD by default. Let me know if that helps. Good LUCK!!!!

Well just to let you know I've read the manual and no shit you have to turn the data wheel. That's my problem when I turn the data wheel to select it only give me the memory card. And for all the other assholes out there not everybody on here is an idiot and wouldn't try the manual first

Uuuhhh, My Bad!!!!!!!!!!!!! No Need To get all POSTAL There Buddy!!! Stay on this forum long enough and you will see where I was coming from. I'm not sure, But do you know if the 2500 can even support a 120GB HD.

Sorry about that I just can't get any answers. But I baught the hard drive from mpcstuff.com, plus Ive herd of people having more than that in an mpc I think it recognizes up to 143 gigs or something

What OS are you running -- Akai or JJ?

and what is the jumper on the drive set at?

I'm using Akai 1.24 and there are no jumpers on the drive

Set the jumpers so the drive is configured as Master and see what happens.

No jumpers on the drive

If it's an ATA-6 drive (laptop drive) you will have to put a jumper on the drive.

What's the model number of the drive?
