midi trouble

I cant seem to figure out how to get my keyboard to record midi
events on to my mpc i mean when i look at the step edit page and start
recording it looks like it is recording the note i struck but will not play it back please help manual driving me insane .

what about your midi connections?

im trying to get my mpc to record notes that i play off of my synth and then play them back ... it looks like the notes are being received but are not playing back off the sequencer .. i set the midi chanels on both mpc and synth to chanel 1 ....

Did you set the track output field in MAIN to the correct MIDI output (OUT-A/B/C/D ) ?

nope but ill try that right now

my synth is connected to my mpc through the midi in 1 conector exactly what do i set the output destination to instructions on you you do it would be most usefull help a newbie out

Hi A-DATT,

Do you also have a cable connected from one of the four outputs to the midi-in of the keyboard? MIDI needs a two way connection (two cables: from and to your keyboard)


Try this:

Leave the connection as it is right now. This is your input connection. It is necessairy to record notes into the sequencer. You've already indicated that this part works ok.

Now, with a new MIDI cable, also connect OUT-A from the MPC to the MIDI Input of your keyboard. In Main, set the output destination of the selected track to OUT-A, ch1. This is your output connection. It is necessairy to listen back to what you have previously recorded.

This should do the trick... Also read the newbe section of this forum it might give you some very useful additional info.
