tons of progress. i've been sick with terrible pain so i dragged it out of my drawers yesterday (the mpc, not my penis) and got to work on it...

screen = done, pads = done, frame/rear frame = done
the only thing left is to mod a couple of the buttons and eventually find a better rotary encoder
but come tomorrow night this thing should be up and running - rough around the edges and REALLY ugly for now, but functionally as badass as i'd hoped...

I'm pretty pumped about this Nym! You've gotta post up tons of pics...did you end up getting a camera?

well the tilting screen would be a useful mod (some people around here managed to do that....

however couldn't you just hook up an mpd16 to the midi input and assign the pads to the correct midi notes and forget even touching the 1000 pads all together? I mean it is not quite the same but it might save some effort.

I have an mpd 15 and I most often use it assigned to bank B on the xl so I dont have to push the bank switch button! lol.

Please stop responding to this thread untill there are actual photos. Obviously there are many people who would like to see pictures of this, but if there aren't... Stop calling attention to it. This includes you Nym.

I just read this over before posting, and it sounds very hearsh. That is not the way I mean it, but the original idea is the same

Harsh is not the word for it, telling Nym to not post on a thread HE created (or anyone else for that matter) is just plain goofy. I mean, why get so bent out of shape by questions by us or Nym's own posts? It IS his project! Let the man do what he wants on his thread.

the man performs... dont be skeptical that it exists... nym has made midi controllers that work and we've seen the pics of those. If he says he made it then he made it. You just have to wait untill the job is finished.

Sorry, first off. I really didn't mean it like that at all. That's why I wrote the second paragraph. All I meant was that there are several people watching this, so quit bringing it up until it bears fruit. That's all

blah blah blah- nothing wrong with asking the man questions or checking for updates. IF the thread gets bumped, just don't look at it! that's all.
