hello

i have to change my mpc2500 (broken) for another one mpc2500, in my mpc i've installed the JJ OS 1 (5,idon'trememberwhich version) and i've done my projects with that OS.

in the new mpc i will not have the JJ OS 1, so i need to rebuy it to be compatible with the other projects.

i'm gone on JJ OS website but i've seen that is only possible to buy the new XT version, not the OS 1 version, is that true or there is a way to buy it?

there is also an email address of the guy who makes the JJ OS? because i haven't found it on the website

i add another question, if i decide to buy the mpc 1000 instead 2500, how to be totally compatible with the projects done with JJ OS 1 on the 2500? i have to buy the JJ OS 1 for the 1000? and are they totally compatible? i mean there is someone who has both the machines and can tell me if that it's true?

i would like to ask that to the JJ dad..

thanks

with the 2500 you have to buy xl - once you do that you can choose os1,2 or xl - but you have to pay the full amount for xl first .

with the 1000 you can buy them individually.

There will be no issues with loading 2500 projects into the 1000, the only difference would be for live tweaking - 2500 pgms support the 4 qlinks, the 1000 only two. So you might have to re-assign the slider settings to suit. Sequences should play back identically.

thanks for your explanation, but i would like to be sure, not that "should work", so if there are other people that have experienced this situation, let me know

thanks!!!

ok, what i mean is this: 99.99% to 100% of your projects will be fine, ive left the 0.01% there for humilities sake- there is a tiny chance you might uncover a miniscule little quirk but i doubt it. to all intents and purposes its the same machine in a different box and the jjos is the same software with a few alterations to accomodate the hardware differences (4 qlinks, cd rom).

if you do uncover a quirk - report it and jj will probably fix it.

I use a 1000 and have loaded up into the 2500 before without problems.

also you could test it yourself. take you cf card to your local music centre and load up your projects on a 1000, try it on the akai os or take jjos on the card with you and load up your projects in demo mode.

Dude... did you just tell him to install JJ OS on the demo machine in the store? That's pretty funny, and gives me ideas.

Maybe we should pull a stunt where we all organize, and hit every shop we can-- installing JJ OS on all the demo MPC's worldwide
