I have no choice i am new school and the mpc2500 to me is the best machine for producing/sequencing. But like the car you drive it is made by a corporation as fast as possible with one thing in mind money. So it is not meant to last for ever. When they were making the mpc2000xl they were thinking longevity now with everything else its money right now. let em send it in.
But really with all these people having the same problem we need to start a letter to akai.
matter of fact

Well like the saying goes, The smart eat from the suckers, and there are way more suckers than smart people.

You would be the man of the year with that modification right there. Do you think it would help at all to the over all feel if you added a bit of weight somehow to the jog wheel? or is the feel soley the rotory encoder the jog wheel sits on.

that clicky rusty feel is in the encoder its self..its because its metal on metal, where as the xl is just a "pole" style rotary dial...so the mod im looking to do is basically the pole style... im still in the middle of finding out the specs on the factory encoder,,its a b1tch to find,,but once i find it,then the easy part comes,,so soon enough and it'll be here!!!

nah, you wouldn't shit on him - you'd challenge him to a battle, name the time and place, and be the only one standing there when the day comes.

sparkler is all talk. well known on these forums

I'd take my 25k with it's broken data wheel any day. I'm the envy of all my bro's with old mpc's. All of them constantly have broken &/or malfunctioning zip drive's, long loading times, and can't fit too many samples in them. Yes, the data wheel sucks...Yes, Akai as a company is going south. But let's face it...the 25k is powerhouse of a machine. Try putting JJOS in a MPC2000.

You know whats funny to me... everyone here if not, probably most everyone here touched, spun, clicked, navigated or whatever with this f*** wheel before you dropped cash on it. Its like we knew it was dirt but we expected Haze.

I agree it would be dope to replace it with a weighted, silent, better feeling, better all around wheel but waste time yapping bout how the company is raping us all the time and that we"re fools for buying them is for *******.

Hey mine broke too. Im not sour
