triggering MIDI on 2000xl

hey guys. i want to control software/midi instruments in logic, but with the 2000xl instead of my keyboard. basically want to replace my midi controller with my akai. right now im only familiar with MTC, midi time code to line my beat up in logic.

i have an M-Audio "uno" midi interface, which i use for the time code/sync and im pretty sure this will work as well. i just havent grasped midi in/out/thru. i connect my midi controller/keyboard using USB and my computer recognizes it fine....and all of you know the 2000xl doesnt have usb. (we can only wish...)

anyway, i ask all of this this because i followed the manual on pages 52, and 53 and still dont know what im doing wrong...

any tips will be greatly appreciated.

well, i know how to use MTC and i have my keyboard controller set up with logic via MIDI with a usb cable.
im just wondering if i can control the sounds in Logic with the pads on my MPC. ive tried hooking up MPC out>uno in and that totally messes with MTC. i
it makes the BPM go all crazy...literally to like 900bpm. on logic that is.

i might have done this set up wrong... ill get back to you...
