What is the significance of the 2000XL?

Never really took a great liking to kanye west, something about his cocky attitude turns me off. His music is okay, im not really impressed by it though.
Pete rock on the other hand....I like his newer MPC 2k beats, they compare quite well to alot of his older stuff.
That being said,Ive seen and heard some unsigned dudes on the internet and this website that use 2k's and their stuff is absolutely wicked....yet some of their music never sees the light of day, and im forced to hear kanye for the 200th time on some radio station everyday.
