New with the 1000 load problem

Hey I just purchased my mpc today, and i was having some trouble loading some samples to the mpc from the exturnal mem card,

I would follow the procedure as described in the owner's guide. but when i go to play the sounds on the pad i hear nothing at all.....

IDK what to do. after the load do i just hit [MAIN] ?

Help!

if you got a manual just read it properly, should explain it all
