What MPC to get for DNB/rap

Hey guys! Im new to the forums, but not to beat production. I used to make beats on my Roland MC303, and I also used fruityloops. I use turntables to mix my DNB and RAP music.

I want to make some fresh drum n bass beats and also mess around with some rap beats.

What MPC should I get???

it really depends on how much money you have and are willing to spend. I have a MPC1000 and i would recomend it to anyone who wants to start making music.

how much do they usually run?

I dont really know the differences or anything

the price depends whether you want to get a brand new one or 2nd hand. i honestly wouldnt have a clue how much a used mpc would cost but for a new MPC1000 i would probably say around the $800 USD mark and for a MPC2500 probably around $1300 USD.....i live in australia so theres the whole currency change and inflated prices

a quick look for used ones were like

$650 - mpc 2000xl

700-750 - mpc1000

1000$ - mpc2500

Nothing personal but I dont understand why people who are gonna spend a shitload of money come to a forum to let other people do their thinking and then end up with something they dont like or will use that much.

and where the **** do you get off saying what you do. where is it that im having other people do my thinking? I asked what are the differences, and whats a good unit. get out of here with your know it all bullshit personality.

anyways, i think what 64hz was saying is that there are a ton of resources out there, such as akaipro.com and vintagesynth.com to get you started on the differences of each machine. youve got youtube to see how each one works. so, for the time it takes to rattle off your angry post, you could have done a few googles and found that info.

the person behind it is what makes it hip hop.

what are you talking about... the beat thang is made for hip hop (suthurn hip hop by the looks of it)

Why not look at the Roland line like the MC-808? I have an MPC but if I had a good experience with Roland I'd think of sticking with them. I really think some of their stuff looks dope. An 808/909 style step sequencer is going to be far better for programming Drum and Bass.

the mc-808 has been discontinued..a while ago actaully
this is the only unit iv sold and rregreted!..and when i went to re buy no one had it in stock and it was discontinued...damn and i refuse to buy used gear..
