this is getting ridiculous.

consider enthusing the Maschine thing withOUT knocking on the mpc in order to do so.

i don't think anyone on this forum minds a bit of wild enthusiasm per se, but if it requires cutting on the machines these forums are based upon then that's more of an attack now isn't it?
and that's reading a bit insecure.

so rage on over the Maschine but until it's got some actual Result History below its belt, let's not compare specs and race cars and be declaring Big Winners.

It looks like a very nice bit of kit. As long as you've got a fast computer and decent sound card I can't see latency being an issue.

Yo, Rokeaz ... cool your arse down and stop being so rude, you plank !!

No I didn't do any so-called 'stress tests' ... I didn't need to, cause the damn bloody MPD32 didn't work correctly to begin with, full stop ! A test wouldn't have revealed anything else to me over and above what was already strikingly obvious : the thing did not work properly at all, let alone be functional enough to run any battery tests on ?! Also, around the time, believe me that there were many, many Cubase users who were climbing all over Akai for answers with that frail unit and nearly all ended up being largely fobbed off ( as I was too ) ... Akai's official response was to go back to Steinberg.

As for the accuracy of my statements, I talk from harsh experience, not hypothetical info. The MPD cost be money and did not deliver - FACT. I sold it and bought myself an MPC1000 and it has been a little revealation. Infact, even with the midi/syncing side of the 1000, it is far more straightforward than that sh.tty MPD32 I briefly owned.

As for the Maschine, I will by it because I can and I like the unit's functions. Will it replace my MPC or DAW ? No, but it will be a welcomed addition.

Peace.

I realize you're a HUGE fan of Maschine but to say that Maschine is re-inventing the wheel is an overstatement. :D

Who said "re-inventing the wheel"? There's no need to re-invent the wheel. Just evolve which is what Maschine does.

What are you talkin about you dont even OWN a maschine.
And saving up for one does not equal owning one.
Im not knockin the maschine so much as I am knockin you for the massive support you have for something you dont own.

I never said I did. It's true that I can only speak for MPCs and various midi pad controllers from experience of owning them. But these days, there are plenty of videos online to give you a pretty good idea of what to expect from something before you even have it in your hands:

you cant expect shit untill you get in your own hands. And I cant take any advice from you no more than I can Myself on this machine because we both dont own one.
YOU DONT OWN ONE!!!

Im sure there is a very good reason why the guy I posted on the first page is selling his and going back to the mpc.
you should talk to him to see what his issues were and if those issues could hinder you work flow.

The Maschine looks pretty dope, I just haven't had time to play around with it. I'm going to try to get some in here so that my people can give their opinions. I don't really have positive or negative expectations about it though, honestly. The MPC is only a component of what I do, not the central part, so if this is better for some uses I won't hesitate to sit it aside or replace one of the MPCs. It's not really a question of if it's better than an MPC for me, as there are a lot of things better than a MPC for some of my needs...it's more if it will make some of those purposes that the MPC still serves more intuitive or integrated for said purposes, in my case anyway.

Ha! But people who actually take the time to read know that it's anything but a "gimmicky mpc-like usb controller". And no, having an Akai MPD or any usb pad controller cannot even remotely come close to what Maschine is all about.

I never once mentioned an MPD ar usb pad controller....Idk why youre pushing this maschine thing so hard dude. You just sound like youve got a bad case of gearslutting going on, and need a product to quench your gear thirst. Youll probably own the maschine for 3 months before the next manufacturer releases something else that and bills it as a "Maschine killer". Ive owned the same god damned mpc since '02 and there still some things I dont use/am not familiar with on it!! Cop 1 thing and master it before you go blow money on "the mpc killer" something else. Preemo is still using the MP60 and S950......

IMO, NI just built a gimmicky mpc-like usb controller to take some of the MPC's market away

IMO:In my opinion......Acronyms: Learn em, Love em.
