Back to the topic at hand.. Any news on the jog mod? I love my 25 but def miss the xl's jog. Just like everyone else. Why they made that machine feel so cheap is beyond me. The 2k etc. couldn't have been too much more to manufacture. Especially cnsidering the fact that I dropped 2g's on it when it came out.

Buut.. One of y'all tech cats solve this then we all happy! JJ has to making money. You can too, fix this mf!

Dealer cost on a 2000XL when they were current (not towards the end of production) was close to $1000 more than a current 25k...

Yo when had mpc open doin some mods was checking the data wheel out. All it has on the topside is ALPS 6 2
Ive emailed them asking if theres a direct replacement for this part that is an upgrade. Pretty sure it's a ring encoder.
Cant attach pics to web email forms ffs, will keep yall upto date. peacee

Good luck with this. I have had an mpc 2500 for a few months and I stand by what I say - its one of the best pieces of kit I have ever bought. Fair play to those with 2000xls and 5000s and what have you - but the way I see it, the best hope we have of getting a more solid jog wheel installed is guys like yourself. After the way AKAI went about the pads on the mpc 1000 I wouldnt spend too much time writing letters to them...

Data Wheel is my biggest complaint with this machine....love all the features.....but I will say this....my experience with it and the list of complaints here does not convince me that putting my xl on ebay is the best idea

IMO the data wheel on the 2kxl is better than that on the 2k..... also the wheel doesn't always have to be used though

also I don't think I'm ever getting rid of my 2kxl...

The datawheel on my 1k starts riding when the horses aren't even running a lot of times.
I have to switch it off everytime it happens. But it runs smoother then the datawheel on the 2500. But the one on the 2500 feels sturdier. Can't really give a crap when I'm in the zone anyway.
