connecting to pc, issue.

I got my MPC 1000 to day, and i am very exited about it, but someting is draging it down
I cant get it connected with my pc to load some samples, here is what i do (and still wont work)

1. plug the usb cable in pc and mpc
2. go in to LOAD mode
3. hit F4 for USB
4. hit F6 for MOUNT

i thougt that should be it, but it wont seem to work.
anybody that could help me out here? ..yes i got the Extreme III flash CompactFlash 2GiB card.

Try shutting down the computer completely, connecting the MPC then starting the computer with it already connected. Sometimes they dont recognize them right away.

now, i draged some samples over... how do i use them? or... find them?

i got them "saved" but i dont know whats next

1)load the samples from the cf
2)go to program mode (mode button then pad7) and assign them to pads
3)crack that manual open

really? are you serious? damn!

that attitude isnt going to get you very far. the answers are in your manual.

make sure your samples are 16bit 44100Hz PCM WAV files. otherwise the mpc cant read them. you can have that for free as its not the easiest thing to find in the manual if you dont know what youre looking for.

it think i ounderstand enough to work it out of my own now... atleast that part.

hmm, i got a problem im watching tutorials at youtube. im trying to chop up a sample to 16 region's and assign it to 16 pads... but i dont understand how.

one more thing .. how do i get my sound or sample to stop when i lift my finger from the pad. as it is now it plays all throught by hitting the pad one time
