can i use a S2000 with my MPC 2000 just for the 8-outs?

can i use a S2000 with my MPC 2000 just for the 8-outs?

these samplers are going on ebay(with 8-outs) for about the same price as the 8 out card for the mpc

so...

is it possible for me to take my old programs/samples and load them into the S2000 and use it's 8-outs, filters, juicer/banana slicer, and overall storage capacity while triggering the sequences from my MPC?

u should just be able to load up your sounds in the s2k then trigger them from the 2000. U really should get mesa (www.akaipro.com) its under downloads, then archives, and scsi your pc to the 2000. Millienum from chicken systems is hot. Its better than mesa. with this software you can basically control and import stuff into the sampler.

but will it accept the 2000's program files with all settings intact? i'm too lazy to recreate all my progs...

i dont think so. You might be able to use chicken systems translator to do that, but i really am not positive. I would say get the s2000 and start makin new beats or just get the outs. I wish i had the outs for my s2000. I really havent been using it much. I want to be able to sample with my pc and then just assin the ish in the s2000 and sequnece with the mpc.

damn, i was trying to be a cheapass and pull a fast one at the same time...looks like i'll still have to cop the 8 outs for my MP

Its the same board isn't it??? I know the effects from the s2000 is used on the MPC so I am guessing the 8 outs is the same aswell...

Plus then you will have a multi-timberal sampler aswell!!!!!
