how do i get the "muffled" sound?

i have trouble explaining what it sounds like

so listen to this song

at around 1:58, it's the same sample as the beginning, just muffled sounding

i'm not sure how to do this on the mpc1000.
i only know with other programs, and that takes too long exporting everything 20 times and yeah.

also i'm not sure if this belongs in this thread..

but if you can, please help me out.

Bro, if you have never used the eq section in your MPC its time to crack open the manual and do some reading....seriously...

sounds like simple lp filter, to me it sounds like an analogue one.

just toss a really heavy blanket on top of it. yea that should muffle it pretty good

Go to the akai website, download the manual, don't ever use "I lost the manual" as an excuse again...
