any way...so I just got my MPC 60 and went to the Linn Design site to print the 3.10 manual...COT DAMN! that ish is sooo long, I think I"m going to have to go and get a new ink cartridge

How's the backlight?

Always print manuals at work if u can...Print cartridges are sooo expensive. I rather dig in the crates and cop some wax with that money.

yeah, I have to go to wally world and get some new ink...it printed out, but next time I'm going to Kinko's...I wonder if they can bind the pages I printed out? all 200 something of them

the backlight is actually pretty dim or nonexistent, now that you mention it, but I can see it so I guess it's okay ehhhhh

i'm going to shower up, go to walmart get the ink and some twizzlers, maybe some soda and get to work on this beast

problem 1: my unit has the SCSI upgrade. after I turn it on, it says searching for SCSI drive/disk or whatever...then it goes to the main page. I go to disk and then load, but I don't have option 9 select disk.

I'm open for suggestions, the cable that cam with the thing is suspect, it has some kind of attachment/converter on the cable I'm guessing the cable was some sort of SCSI to (can't think of the name but it's bigger plug) and on the end of one is a SCSI to SCSI converter.

I'm going to get a SCSI cord if walmart has them

You can set the time that it searches for scsi. Do you have a zip drive attached?

Attach zip drive, format zip disk, then select disk.

haha, na, it's a Jaz drive...if I format the disk, will I lose all the sounds on it? cause I think the dude sent sounds in the disk

what happened to SCSI? it lost the way I think, I couldn't find one anywhere...I have to go to this computer store tommorow.

the cable needed for an MPC60 to an iomega zip drive is 25pin male to 25pin male SCSI cable... it may be a different SCSI connector on your Jaz drive though... the mpc60 end needs the 25pin male though...

the one i found which was very difficult to find even at Fry's Electronics, it was labeled "APPLE SCSI 25pin male to 25pin male" so i think that that particular cable was made for old apple computers, not sure if you need the same cable or not though...

good luck man, its a bit rare to find computer stores that still carry SCSI cables nowadays, and when you do you will probably find 20 to 30 different SCSI cable types!!! just make sure you know exactly which connectors you have on both the 60 and the SCSI drive before you get there... it was a headache for me to sift thru all those cables they had in the SCSI section... it looked like they hadnt organized that section in years!

yeah don't format it if it's got sounds. the disk should be in the drive on power up. Otherwise call the dude, he should know how to do it.

The jazz drive probably has the 50 pin connector. They make a converter. I have one for my 2000 to Jazz. They have smaller connects on the 2000xl and 1000. So you should be able to get the 25 to 50 pin converter.
