Snares on the samples...

Is there some kind of Eq'ing I can do to get rid of or lower snares and kicks on samples? sometimes when i wanna pull something off of vinyl, kicks and snares mess up what i'm tryin to do..

Your best bet would be to filter and chop extensively until youve got what you want.
Sometimes its a no win situation though, as one sound may be two close to the other and choppiness will result.
Having said that, Chop what you can and mess with the filter and envelope settings....You might get something just as good by accident.

One way is to chop the samples so that the kick or snare is right at the beginning of the chop. Then, you can either layer them on another kick or snare, or you can use a high attack setting so that you can't hear it... eqing out a snare is gonna be pretty tough on the mpc.

go to TRIM MODE and ZN EDIT there are functions to erase and paste parts....

Try inverting the phase. It works for removing vocals, and depending upon the phase relationship of the drums, you may be able to remove them as well...It works on some tracks, but not others....

thats what i was gonna say, cool edit has a pretty good compressor thats easy to use and gets the job done.

cool edit, wow, haven't heard that one is a while, adobe audition is reconstruction/modernization of ce.
