I know if they release a new and more advanced gear you all will loose that's why I understand your feelings, but that's is what is going to happen anyways....
For those who think they are good and expirenced in studio and stuff. post your work here.
I have Pro tools LE but it doens't feat my needs right now, when they release the beat detective for le version I might start using it.
Music is my hobbie I don't make money with that. that's why I will not waste money in a expensive hardware to have pro tools tdm.
For what I know, hardly anyone("pros") use mpc 4000 to do everything, only to make beats(the ones who use it), the other stuff are hardware keyboards and SOFTWARES.
I know people who makes a lot of money only with Fruityloops and make beats better than with a mpc. They say they don't need that....fruity does everything better and faster.
So don't judge what is good and what is bad, home or pro, it's all depends of your creativity and skills.

This is starting to sound like a broken record. Everybody has been through this 5 to 6 times since I joined last Jan to the board and its the same shit if I get this if I get that. Come back 2 years later and ask the same question and what will have changed nothing. You can send a kid to college but you can`t make him learn. Check it dude there is a MPC 60 forum, 3000 forum, 2000XL, 1000 forum and a MPC 4000 do you think all of those users are going to piss in their pants because some new kit it out when they have invested some much time and energy into their instrument ? I believe this board has been around for at least 5 to 6 yrs and how many other killer apps have came out in that time? I thought you wanted to learn something when I gladly welcomed you with advice for someone who doesn`t even own one. I`m getting disappointed with the bull you know what I mean. Come back two years later to the 5000 forum or Ecmixs engineered wunderkit forum with the super doper MPC that flys in the air, picks up your kids, and boxes with Yamaha, Roland, and the secret weapon being designed by Mircosoft. Just drop the bull and move on and follow the crowd friend get on the fence and wait until your 52 then get your new kit and have some brat run up claiming the kit he got one hour ago is better than what you got. DONT YOU KNOW KIDS AREN`T SUPPOSE TO TALK WHEN GROWNUPS ARE SPEAKING. but on the real don`t beat a dead dog friend leave the **** alone. Drop it, Get ghost, slide out, have a coke and a smile and.................... :D

I wish you the best in your endeavors, please don`t waste time research yourself with magazines, Akai`s website, and your local Akai representative and self education. Forums have a lot of rumours and bull shit along with great tips which is why I always research myself before listening to any joe blow in a chat room. Call your local representative like I did. If you are the cautious type wait three months after the NAMM all of the wares will be featured in the mags. Good Luck :P

Hey buddy I listened to your mixes and I don't think you will benefit from an MPC ever, not now, not 4 mpc models down the road. If I was you I would take up a new "hobby" and leave the beat making to the truly inspired. You have no friggen clue as to why any of us use the MPC as the center piece of our studios when we need to start laying down serious beats. There isn't a peice of software yet that can top how the MPCs work for hip hop production. Your joints are stink bombs and you dont even deserve a reply but somebody needs to set the record straight......
peace

And don't try to make a 32/64 beat in the whole song and then put the acapella, do something original, without sampling like I do, create everything with several variations, like in the Lumidee,Kevin Lyttle shit.
Or are you limited to sampling???

By boywithpez007 Mon Jul 26, 2004 9:34 pm

No samples pick up the acapella and instrumental in soulseek and that's it, don't sample the original beats, do something original.
