i'm having problems with mpc and protools sync .

problem : protools is set as slave to mpc , so when i push start on mpc , protools start recording , but it seems that protools always starts a little later then mpc .
So I always gotta move the tracks until there on the right bar . :x

does anybody have the same problem or know how to solve this? .

thanks

You should let Pro tools be the master. Also if you are not doing so configure your OMS set up. You'll find templates for the Mpc 3000,and just set it to that. Then go to midi, and turn midi beat clock to on. Also on your Mpc,insert a blank bar at the begining of the song so your Mpc has time to translate the midi info.

I'm having problems syncing my 4k to my yahama rm1X for some reason. I used to work at SAm ASh and had a whole corner of the kybd dpt midi'd up so I'm pretty damn pissed that I can't figure this out.

the mpc2000 was so easy to use to sync things up.

For this one, I went into the sync menu in the main page, and then set it to MTC, so that I can trasnmit location data to the rm1x, which I want to slave to the mpc4000. I can't make the rm1x change tracks with the MPC4000, and I can't trigger a pattern to start recording. the RM1x has a nice arp I want to use.

If you're using OS X or windows there is no OMS.

What you are seeing isn't necessarily a problem. That late start or half measure gap is just the computer "catching up" with the MP. Every system does this. You can get around this by using song mode and inserting a blank bar at the beginning of your sequence. Or if you're recording an eight bar loop, per say, just let it loop around twice and cut off the first half, then copy and paste for the duration of the song.

I usually slave the mp to pro tools but couldn't get it to work ever since I upgraded to 1.51w. Anyone else having a similar problem? Pro tools will chase the mp with no problems so I know my midi is configured properly.

Also while we're on the topic, I heard that it's actually better to have pro tools chase the mp. The mp's timing is allegedly tighter in this configuration. This last batch of tracks I laid seemed to confirm this. Nothing scientific, just a feeling. Any facts or opinions?

I agree slaving pro tools to mpc with the blank bar in song. I`m using 1.51w with no problems with PTLE. :D

MTC only functions in SONG mode of the RM1x if I remember correctly. Use MIDI clock instead.
