mpc60 s3000xl problem

alright so im a long time 60 user and im pretty sure i know most of the things its capable of, but i recently bought a s3000xl rack sampler and whenever i try to trigger sounds from the midi keyboard connected to my 60 controlling my 3000xl i cant get a sound out of it when i connect the midi keyboard directly to it no problem, when i connect the keyboard to the 60 with the 3000 not connected i can trigger sounds from it no problem..
now i used to have an eps 16 rack and i had no problem doing this
and before anyone says something like change the type to midi and chn to 1a i have already done this but i cant think of anything else? is it my 60s system parameters or the 3000 i dont know please help

Which OS do you have in your 60 ??

To trigger samples from the pads you need midi local mode, wich was introduced in OS 3.10. If you have an earlier OS you have to hook a keyboard or other device to the midi-in of the 60 and trigger your 3000xl with that.

yeah i have 3.10 and it just isnt happeneing i used to be able to do it with my eps rack but shoot the 3000xl just inst happening more looking through manuals

nevermind i dont know what i did but a bunch of knob turning in the midi setting always helps
