Insufficiant Memory (new user)

Hello, This site seems like a resourceful tool...
I am new to the mpc world, There is a lot I don't know...
I just bought my mpc 1000 new ive been watching tutorials and reading the manuel... I want to know why I can't chop a sample more then 10 seconds long? Can I erase the preloaded nonsense on the mpc to free up space? Can the akai 128mb flash card (sound library) be erased? I dont want to buy new memory just yet... is this my only choice? At this point I just want to be able to sample properly with more than a lousy 10 seconds....can someone help?

ok thanks, but in terms of memory... can i buy CF card opposed to internal memory..for the purposes of chopping and sampling? If I get internal memory is it just akai that makes it? Would that put the kai-bosch on my warranty?

i upgraded my RAM for $12

the CF card wont help you record longer samples. the RAM does.
