I got a few questions
1 what is the make and model of that touch screen you have ?
2 how is the screen conected to the 4k?
3 how did you get that screen layout ? Is is somekind of a MAC verion of akaisys?
4 If you could run down a brief layout of what it took to get this up and runnng short of the work you put in with the sysexe commands

1) elo but could be any. Works just like a mouse.
2) touchscreen is connected to a macbook, macbook to mpc via midi
3) logic environment, could have used max/msp or anything that sends sysex, I used logic cause its what I run anyway so I can jump between normal logic duties and this.
4) really easy to get up and running buy touchscreen, connect to macbook via usb, connect logic pro to mpc via any midi interface, should have thought of this 6 months ago!

I only used a touch screen because try as I could I could find a midi controller that had the sysex spec I was after I couldn't, I have alot of that template on my edirol keyboard but its hard to implement the pad selection functions without a controller with lots of buttons.
