The Eternity Chop

Yes...the eternity chop...i have to wait an eternity to chop on my 2500!...why?

Even if I take a sample and tell it to chop equally into two slices it takes like 10secs to chop...WTF!??!?! anyone know why this is happening??? It's really annoying.

Get JJOS! I've chopped shit into over 30 peices and it created the chops almost instantly!

I'm seriously considering it bro...but am I gonna have to learn the machine over again with JJ or is it easy to pick up if you already know your way around the Akai OS?

Also, I think after speaking to some other heads on here who have experienced the same problem with chopping we can safely say its down the the latest Akai OS.

AKAI OS 1.23 is what you want. Are you running 1.24?

Nope... Me personally I dont miss out on anything.

Theres a few differences but its JJOS > Akai OS all the way.

It wouldnt hurt trying the free one dude. Even the free OS is a major improvement to the Akai OS.

Id switch just for the chopping, grid edit and save/load.

If I made the switch, would I have to reformat my hard drive before installing the jjos?

Thats a good question... IDK know because I didnt get my HD till I got my JJOS2

Never format the HD when switching OS.
It's only necessary if u take ur HD from ur mpc1000 and put it in the 2500.

actually this is very very important if you ever ran os 1.23 or earlier on your mpc2500
the formatting is necessary due to the akai os saving bug that caused "directory error" when saving over identical projects and the freeze on "new folder" creation.

if you even saved 1 time on akai os 1.23 or previous on your hard drive, back up your hard drive to a computer, reformat from inside the jjos, and then dump the stuff back into the hard drive. otherwise, you may/will run into problems! it's happened before, to others.

My 2500 came with the free JJ os installed but when I upgraded to XL I formatted my hard drive just to be on the safe side.
