Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hi MPC users,

I'm new at this forum and I just started using the MPC 500. Everthing works well except this... I want to sequence my synths with the MPC. I use the correct MIDI connections, etc. but I can't put the internal sounds from the MPC off. I'm in an unused sequence, push the Track button and afterwards the Params button. Then I see Program Assign on the screen and I go to the Program Field to choose "Off" with the data wheel. But I just can't... I can only choose between ?CDS, Sunny Set, Hip Hop set and Hip Hop Set. I installed the latest OS version and have internal 128 mb memory. Can somebody help me with this problem? Thanks,

Pfr.

(Firstly set up a new program if you haven't done so already, then scroll to the right and change the levels from 70 to 100. & then, scroll over to the right again and make sure you change everything from poly to mono)

Now set all of your tracks individually, by selecting them with the track button & going into mode program and scroll to your program, once your track is set keep doing it until you have all your tracks necesarry. Then you should be good to go.

Just curious, with a name like Prayersforrain, what type of beats do you make? No disrespect of course.

Well, Prayers For Rain is a song by The Cure but I like all kinds of music. I just started to work with the MPC, and now the sequencing part of the MPC is the most important. I want to make electro, EBM. Not the commercial stuff...
