Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

yo! simple question:

here in belgium the current is normally 220V/50hZ
where i live its 239V (due to among other things some electrical stuff being real close)
would this cause problems after a while, for an MPC (thats probably engineered for slightly lower voltages)?
im asking because we replace lightbulbs every week, and smaller electronic stuff suffers sometimes too here..

I wouldn't chance it bro.
If you are burning out filaments in light bulbs with that high of a voltage, you'll most likely fry the MPC's transformer & circuit board after time.

hmm, Im reading that they can run everything: 100-240 V and 50/60 hZ..
anyway, im going to check the precise voltage, because that 239 was measured a couple of years ago
(isnt it curious that a voltage measurement carried out by the electrical company gave a result that was just under the cutoff for supplying us with a transformer? hmm..)

The MPC can handle up to 240VAC but my concern is that you are burning up lightbulbs and that's an odd voltage reading. There might be another problem in your electrical wiring... dropouts or brownouts in power can cause that.
I know that the wattage plays a factor in this for the lightbulbs but the MPC uses only 13-23 watts.

Buy one of those inexpensive step-down transformers and run the voltage through that. Let the MPC run on 120 volts. I used to sell those for $10.00 USD and you can buy them very cheaply on eBay. I'd say it would be worth it just for peace-of-mind.

Stop worrying. It ain't gonna do your mpc any harm.
And as for the lamps: Stop buying cheap ass lightbulbs.

In the US, power delivery can be spotty depending on where you live. I try to power any electronic equipment I care about (TV, oscilloscope, music stuff) through a line conditioner or UPS which helps provide "clean" power and manage any sudden changes in power delivery.

Brownouts can be killer on electronics.
