I did try to search for this but what do yall think about the update. I run 1.23 is it worth the update?
I'm also leaning towards JJXL. Is it even worth the update?

peace

Obviously 1.24 implements the stereo chopping function, although poorly. For anyone wanting to downgrade to 1.23, here it is:

Stereo chops? Finally in 1.24?
It's just a basic feature in the free JJOS version.

The free JJOS version is actually the Akai OS that should have come with the mpc in the first place. Akai's os feels like it's only finished for 80%
Seriously, I can't c no reason why people are still on the akai version. Even if u don't need the extra features, basic stuff like stereo chops, global program edit will really improve the workflow.

IMO an 2500 with the normal os is like a car with a brick underneath the gaspedal that's preventing u to kick the pedal all the way down to the floor.

No disrespect, but u just slow down yourself

I've been using JJOS on the 2500 for 2 months, and I love it. He are the reasons I recommend JJOS.
1. No more corrupt files and worries about saving
2. Lighting fast sampling and work flow
3. Superior "Grid Editing" on JJOS2 & JJOS2xl

Maybe I will go back to the free JJ. I actually went back to Akai's just to be able to study the OS using the manual (which was written by an asscheek). Is spending the money on the newest JJXL worth the hundred something? Also has anyone written a printable pdf manual for it yet?

peace

1. No more corrupt files and worries about saving

Which doesn't exist anymore since 1.24.
Everybody talks about bug correction on JJ's, but 1.24 isn't that bugged (never had any problem since 1.24 is out), so this is not a point you can argue anymore... Plus JJ's XL OS is fully bugged...

JJ is good for improves included, but bug correction is completely wrong. Update your arguments guys...

I don't think there's that many bugs in XL. Certainly not show stopping bugs anyway.

Maybe not that many, but now JJ's on his sequencer and bug fixes can't be anything else than a hope... and if the sequencer is only compatible with XL that s***ks ! (don't know about that point...)

If his sequencer brings added features and ease of use to the JJ user then it can only be a good thing in my opinion.

It sounds like you've considered or are considering buying XL. Am I right?

Yeah sure, but I don't know... OS2 seems ready to use, but XL looks unfinished... I'll probably go with OS 2 and go to XL when most bugs will be fixed.

I got to say, because maybe wasn't clear enough, I don't particulary like AKAI's OS, just wanted to say that bug fixes is not real, especially about XL...

1.23 and 1.24 are a pile of schit compared to even the free JJOS. I used both of them for a long time before I switched. It was taking forever to chop on 1.24 and it really was ruining my workflow.
