ANY ROOM FOR KEYBOARDS ANYMORE???

Wasss crackin beat headZ, this is your boy Z-Kamil, i'm kinda new on here, but i noticed most of the peeps on here rely heavily on samplin' (nuthin wrong with that y'all shit is bangin; i spent a whole day listeinin to everybody's shit). Does anybody use keyboards as a major part of their production? Just curious. Most of the beats on ma site are keyboard driven or live instruments. Listen up!

You could help me then dude as I'm after advice on some external sounds to run alongside my 2k. I'm really after bass with some effects but can you recommend a keyboard with lots a trix for not too many pound sterlings?...

i like to flip it up myself. keep a well balance between the samples and keys. buuuut, sometimes i might go all samples or just drop the rhythm and play the rest with keys whatever gets the job done

all sorts, samples, synths, keys- i dont stick to one kind of sound source...that would crazy

i don't really think sampling is ever gonna die. It's been around since the late 70's and it's still here. i think a good mix of sampling and keys is the best way to go. Take Timbaland for example, his ish sounds sooo damn crazy. Like on that on that one song "Call Me" by Tweet. That is one of the hottest beats. Or Just Blaze is tight as hell too; he mixes his sh*t up. Personally, I prefer both of those Producers over Kanye West anyday.

i agree that it wont die over night but in terms of available material sampling will never exceed over real instrumentation- as with real instruments you can play what ever you like as with samples you are restricted...

I don't think sampling will ever die. Even if the record companies push non-sampled music it's still gonna be there. If the radios are banging sample free music, you can believe there are are thousands of cats still digging in their crates, cassettes and 8-tracks for something to jack. I for one am one of them. A whole culture/lifestyle (Hip-Hop) has some of it's foundation built on sampling. To dead that would be to end a part of the culture which I don't see ever happening. Word to Kool Herc.

i agree with rondu.. samplin aint never dyin..u can sample from anything unless u restrict urself to just usin soul samples and of course the supply is going to start runnin low but i got all type of records from all genres from all countries... i use keys too but i stay in the crates.. nothin like it..
