Newbie Question - Loading Samples from PC

I'm new to the world of the MPC so forgive me for such a ridiculous question.

I am looking to load some Wav samples onto the akai and then create a program. I have connected the mpc to my laptop and the mpc drive appears on my computer. I have tried dragging and dropping a folder with samples into the internal memor and other folders. When I then come to starting up the mpc again how do I get these samples so I can assign them to pads in program mode.

I know this should be very straight forward but when I go into load mode they don't seem to be there or if I do sometimes find them I can't get to a stage where I can here them

1) - where should I drag these samples when I have the mpc drive up on my laptop
2) - how do I then get them on the mpc to be abble to assign them

any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I want to start getting creative but can't get the bl00dy samples on

This should be an easy process via PC or MAC so Im not quite sure where the problem is occurring for you?
Especially since it sounds like you've already established a link / mounted your MPC to your computer via the USB cable???.....

Some basic points to follow:
*Mode > Load (Pad2)
*Hit F4, USB tab
*Your status will appear at the top as Not Connected
*Connect your USB to your computer. (On a mac, wait until you see your CF card mount to your desktop)
*At this point, it is a simple drag and drop procedure.
*Double click on your MPC CF Card icon and navigate to the folder you want to drag files to.
*Open another window or finder and navigate to the files you wish to drag to your MPC.
*Be sure that your files are all wav., 16/44.1 (the 1000 does not read 24 bit samples)
*Now just drag your files to your card. Simple as that.
*Afterward, make sure to eject/unmount your MPC from your computer first before unplugging your USB cable.

*Return to your program mode and either load your new program or build a new one.
*This is ALL in your manual by the way!

yeah granted it should be extremely easy - I can see the samples when I go back to the MPC but It will not let me load from the memory card, it keeps saying "wrong file" when I try and load it. They are definitely wav files. they are from a native instruments battery library and i have once in the past managed to get some on there somehow. Could it be i have too much on there already, is there any way I can get the ones on the memory card to replace everything in the internal memory

Also i have tried going direct into program mode but I cannot fund them for selection when scrolling through the data wheel

any suggestions would be great
