Mpc1000 and microkorg

Whatup fellas.. Yo I been strictly samplin vinyl on my mp for a few years now and I wanna get on a synth also. I am probably about to by a microkorg but I was wondering anyone could give me some feedback on it?honestly ima mostly use it for basslines and I wanna know if I'm wastig my money. Also how could I slave it to my mp? Could I record directy into the mp tracks? I hate usig computers so would I have to deal with that midi bullshit? Cuz I record my beats live into protools on my mac. Any healp would be mad appreciated!!!! Thanks homies!!!

im having trouble understanding this...but i'll take a stab at this and maybe it will answer your questions...


what do you mean by record directly into the mp tracks? do you mean like audio tracks? cause thats not in the 1k unless u have the jjos n that would mean this should be moved to the jj forum and if you've been sampling vinyl for years you should know how to sample a bassline as well... its the same process but to keep the groove going you'll want to press play on your sequence first so you can play to the beat, then enter the record window (mode+ pad 5) then record your bassline and assign it to a pad and put it in your sequence... tadaa!

i don't understand how you don't use midi but you track everything into pro tools... i take it u manually press play after hitting record in pro tools ... your making things very hard on yourself by not learning midi

and if you hate using computers why are you using pro tools? i mean, if you only use pro tools to track u shouldn't even have pro tools cause your barely using it. it's so much more then just tracks overloaded with plug ins... which most entry level instrumentalists and people who call themselves "producers" seem to get stuck on lol. especially the midi capabilities. sounds to me like you'd be better off with ableton for your work ethic which is dope as well and a bit simpler to use. but you definitely need to learn midi if you want to incorporate different keyboards/ drum machines/ synths into your setup so if i was you i wouldn't be avoiding midi. its easy to learn, so get hip asap. it is the universal synchronizer of digital music. and odds are i can almost guarantee it helps you in a few ways. especially if your just manually pushing play on your mpc when tracking into PT.

the microkorg is dope but theres so many other synths you might like so do some research...

with the little understanding im getting from your work ethic... i'd say you should do all your sample and drum work in the mpc then track it into pro tools. anything from the microkorg or any other instrument should be recorded direct into pro tools this takes a load off the polyphony in your mpc and you'll find the squencing in pro tools shits on the mpc. this is all my blunt opinion of course but what do i know i've only been on this hip hop production voodoo since the late 90's...

microkorg is ok if u edit the hell outa the patches ,after a while it got kinda old imo.now i just use it to trigger my proteus 2000 ,i too was checkin the korg ms2000 .looks dope

Shit I can sample a baseline and chop it but that shit gets old you no what I'm sayin. I wanna compose. Shit homie I love my ethic I'm straight wax to tracks. ****** hate but I like grimey shit that's just me.. I know me traking right into protools is garbage and I would like to get on a new way.. Haha I know I gotta get on that midi tip but after you strictly crate dig with no form of masterig or none of that shit u get used it.
