Word, I from trying to sell them. Almost any kid can bug his parents for a 1000, but only real heads know the true value of the 25k.

25k had a price drop since its been out so has the 500 and the 5000..1ks price been at a g for ever haha that shit aint budgin..i gues theres a reason for that

The mpc1000 was a very smart move for Akai. An entry level machine, cheap compared to the other mpc's, but still professional enough to be picked up by serious musicians. I think a lot of 17year olds who starts making beats buy a 1k.
I think they've put out the mpc 5000 as the new 'industry standard high end beat composer' that every serious record producer want to work with. I think they haven't sold as many of them as they expected. I think a lot of people with a bigger budget might still go for the 2500. By killing that option I think they'll (nukai) hope they will sell more 5000's. I think that's also one of the reasons they stopped producing the 4000 when the 5000 was released. To make room for Nukai's new flagship.

That makes alot of sense. It's a shame to see the 2500 go though,....it's the current staple Mpc IMO,...the "Mpc 2000XL" of the current Mpc family.

yeah that does suck, but at least we still got our units with the jjos on them. Akai is fvcking pitiful, they'll probably try to make something else to compete with the linndrumm thats coming out. I say this is a good thing to happen because there will be another company with some visionary people who want to put out a machine that similar I just hope the tech support won't be as retarded as the current people at akai.

i am planning on getting a 2500 soon. is there anything i should buy that could go wrong wit it hardware wise. like extra buttons, extra pads, etc..
