Quik Q's bout the 1000 2500 and 2000

Correct me if I'm wrong................But with a 2000 you can assign a snare to a pad....and on the same pad Different layer add the same snare to make it really hit.........This is wahat I was told to do To give my drums a lil more power.........

But I use a 1000 and for some reason I can't do this with out a f'ed up phase interference or something........I can hit the pad gettin the results I want some of the time.....But its completly random.............

So now I ask........Is there the same prob with the 2500...?

I'm thinkin it might be with the build........And the only ones that can do it are the classic 2000 and 3000.....................

So anyone with a 2500 1000 2000 take a min to check it out.......

this isn't a "problem" this is just something people shouldn't do, period
all you're doing by stacking the same sample 2 times is doubling its volume
and since (these, most, all? w/e moot point in light of normalize) mpcs aren't sample accurate the 2 sounds play a tiny bit off from each other, which causes phase cancellation.

if you really want to layer your drums, find drum sounds that complement each other in reference to the song you're putting together.

otherwise, instead of stacking a sound on top of itself, you should just turn everything else down and bump the volume of your master output...or just normalize the sample

Word....Thanks for the input........I kinda figured as much......Only reason I was askin is cause some one who I and alot of people look up to as a producer in this biz told me thats what he does.............
I asked if he was talkin bout layerin a diff sample and he said nah the same one.......

This really isn't that big of an issue for me , as my drums allready hit hard as PHUQ !....LOL

I just like to try diff things.......

He could use the same drumsample, but just tune it slightly different.
